8 things

I got tagged. I know it's been forever and that this is a lame post to come back with. So I'm sorry. But here goes, 8 things you probably didn't want to know about me:

First, the business end:

then the facts:

1. I am divorced. I got married at 20 and we split up on our 6th month anniversary-it was clearly not meant to be. He went on to be a pot dealer and eco terrorist.

2. I met Eric a couple of months after I split with my ex hubbie, Just after we met, but before our first date, I got my belly button pierced. As I walked back from the salon, I ran into Eric, and I showed him the new piercing-bloody and slick with anticeptic gel. 13 years later we have 2 kids and have lived in 9 homes together. Who wudda thought? That piercing is now a very attractive stretch mark.

3. I was a British citizen until a year and a half ago.

4. I am a home body, but for me that means I want to make my home where ever I happen to be. We go to Italy and I dream of an apartment over the canals in Venice. Bristol, a place just off the downs. These may seem obvious, but if we get lost in Costa Mesa (if you’re not familiar with this place, be grateful), I start mentally moving us into the first house I see that I consider livable. I am always house hunting. Always.

5. I am dyslexic, which is why I blank on people’s names, even when I’ve been introduced a million times, or have had you over for dinner. I have to see it written down before I can remember it completely. It also explains the odd spelling mishap, and why I once made a bunch of copies of a Chrsitmas poem and handed them out to my family for Christmas.

6. When I was in high school, my best friends (I had 2) and I had a thing for the movie Hairspray and we’d watch it every weekend and sing along. I haven’t seen the remake, though I hear it’s great. I’m just still not sure why they made a new one-what was wrong with the old one??

7. I am an introvert, which some people might find hard to believe. I am the social butterfly in our circle, mostly because of the school our kids go to and my involvement in just about everything there. It means I know everyone and am constantly arranging social things and saying hi to everyone. I sometimes find it exhausting. I have a few really good friends, people I’d call in the middle of the night friends, but I hesitate to call them best friends ‘cause it sounds so middle school. But they know who they are.

8. I have a nail biting problem. I am currently in a positive nail stage, and actually have nails with which to scratch my head. But I often don’t, and almost always have some sort of tissue wound due to unconscious nibbling. I also fidget and pick a lot. I just saw a bit of video Eric took of me from 10 years ago, and I never sat still, I was always scratching, or picking, or twitching. I knowI still do.

Ok, here's where I wus out. I can't thing of 8 people who haven't already done this, or who isn't so insanely popular that me tagging them would be more than a mosquito buzzing in their comments section. So I pass on the tagging part. Bad blogger, I know.
